UH OH... BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES.

I woke up this morning to the voice of my favorite weather girl, LINDA CHURCH in panic mode. She's sounding the alarm for a HUGE snowstorm that's apparently heading our way tomorrow. Conservative prediction: 6"-1' in NYC, 1-2 feet in the suburbs. Snow's supposed to hit us around 9am on Saturday and fall all day long. Yay.

It's been a long while since we've seen scenes like this one. The streets awash in white. Yellow cabs skidding their way up 3rd Avenue. The serenity of the snowfall and the sounds of anxious folks frolicking about in the snow. That first snowfall is always the most enjoyable one. It gives you signal that winter is finally here. You would think a snowstorm such as the one we're expected to get would be a deterrent for the bar business. On the contrary, it actually helps the business because the snow brings folks out and one of my college buddies said it best: "Sitting in a bar during a NYC snowstorm is a dream come true!". So while I'm outside shoveling the crap out of the snow most of the day, I expect to see a full bar, filled with happy revelers, cheering on the snowfall and the Christmas season. Yay.

Last night's football game between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars proved to be one hell of a game. The Colts, having nothing to play for, decided to play their starters the whole game and while Jacksonville gave the Colts one hell of a game, the Colts were able to hold back the charge of the Jags and keep their undefeated streak intact, while delivering a damaging blow to Jacksonville's playoff chances, 35-31.

The deep chill of the air didn't keep folks from turning out for the big game. We also saw our share of folks coming from holiday office parties; Wave after wave of groups stopped in throughout the night for a nightcap (or two) and that remained the trend of the night. Not bad.

Now that I know what we're up against this weekend, I have to cut this post short as I now have to run out and secure provisions for the weekend, including making preparations for our Annual Christmas Party this weekend. Should be a good time as our holiday parties are usually memorable affairs. Here's hoping that the impending snowstorm doesn't put a damper on our festivities!

That's It. That's All I Got.
