HEY NINETEEN!

19. 19 DEGREES!!! As I try and write this post from a chilly apartment, I can't help but to only wonder how brutally cold it is outside. I see plenty of bundled up folks trying to brave the elements and believe it or not, lots of tourists (The cameras pointed up at the tall buildings give it away). Call me crazy, but I'm not sure if I would be doing the Big Apple in the dead of winter and I try to encourage all of my friends to avoid visiting me during this time. There is a lot of things to see in the city which requires a lot of walking and I'll be damned if I'm going to freeze my ass off while strolling through Central Park.

By the way, if you find yourselves having issues with your heat, call 3-1-1 (in NYC) and make a complaint. It really works and someone will be out to check out your situation shortly.

The cold weather also affects business as folks tend to stay in if it's too cold outside. Last night was a perfect example of that. After work I saw folks scurrying home like rats, determined to get out from the brutally cold temps. I took a brisk walk around the block to see how the other bars were doing and they were just as slow as ours, a testament to that theory. I'm hoping that with the arrival of the weekend that things will perk up, in spite of the weather. Hopefully "cabin fever" will force everyone out of the shoebox apartments and out and about for the night. Keeping the fingers crossed.

You know you're from the wrong generation when you confuse "hipsters" with "hip-hoppers". Right HORNY GOATWEED?

J.D. SALINGER passed away the other day. The famously reclusive author of such books as "Catcher in the Rye" and "Franny and Zoey" was 91. I saw a post related to his death that made me laugh; It said: "R.I.P. J.D. Salinger- He's really reclusive now."

We have a lot of activities taking place this weekend at the bar; make sure to check out the website for the latest specials of the day. Hope you make it a point to get out of the apartment and get some fresh air, and perhaps, stop by for a pint (or two). Rumor has it that STIFFLER will be making an appearance in town this weekend. That should be interesting as he's always a source of entertainment whenever he stops by.

Got some errands to run. More later.

That's It. That's All I Got.

Ha! 18 degrees here, beat you by one degree. I take it you didn't get the space heater for your room. And here I don't even have a window on the back of my Jeep.
