Not quite sure if it was a full moon last night or not, but based on some of the crazy stuff I saw, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Between the lunatic Philly fans celebrating the rare comeback series victory over Boston; The nutty blonde bimbo who got a kick out of picking up waterbugs off of the ground and petting them; The couple who would make out one minute, then fight the next minute, only to make up and make out again five minutes later, it always seemed like something else was going to happen.
There was a pretty decent after-work crowd in place to catch the pivotal Game 7 matchup between the Flyers and the Bruins. At first, everyone thought it was going to be a blowout as Boston quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead. At that point, some of the Philly fans left in a huff, thinking that their season was over. However, the diehard Flyers fans weren't disappointed as their team clawed their way back into the game and ultimately winning the game, 4-3, eliminating the Bruins on their home ice. Now, much to the chagrin of everyone who follows hockey, the #7 seeded Flyers will be HOSTING the #8 seeded Canadiens on Sunday in the Eastern Conference final, with a berth in the Stanley Cup as their reward. Go figure.
I was just taking a look at our draft lines and we've accumulated a pretty nice collection of drafts. Currently on tap we have the following:
ABITA PURPLE HAZE (Louisiana)
AMSTEL LIGHT (The Netherlands)
BLUE MOON (Colorado)
BUD/BUD LIGHT (St. Louis)
YUENGLING LAGER (Pennsylvania)
STELLA ARTOIS (France)
NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE (Newcastle, England)
HOEGAARDEN (Belgium)
GUINNESS (Ireland)
DUVEL GREEN (Belgium)
SAM ADAMS (Massachusetts)
MAGIC HAT #9 (Vermont)
MOLSON CANADIAN (Canada)
Not too bad. We plan on introducing some new brands in the very near future to keep the rotation fresh, which is never a bad thing. As always, we welcome suggestions for new/different beers and you never know, you might just see your suggestion making the rotation!
PREAKNESS VIEWING PARTY this Saturday afternoon! The Preakness Stakes take place this Saturday afternoon and as always, hope springs eternal for that possible Triple Crown Winner. It's been almost 30 years since we've had one. This race is the one that usually tell if there will be a chance that the Triple Crown will be won, so expectations generally run high. We'll be televising the event live and offering up $2 mugs, until 7pm! If you're in the neighborhood, join us for an afternoon of fun!
That's it. That's All I Got.

The craziness must have been isolated to your part of town since we were pretty laid back and steady in the East Village. You know the freaks follow you Big Daddy.
