AND THE RUSH BEGINS....

I found myself up earlier than normal today and with the weather gods predicting better-than-normal temps (upper 60's) for today, that was all the motivation I needed to get out there and handle the necessary errands for the bar...

Because of the short week, we got the majority of our deliveries in today, much to the delight of our barback, QUASIMODO, who was caught slightly off guard by all of the kegs we got today. During my trek around the neighborhood I couldn't help but to notice folks beginning the mass exodus out of the city for the Thanksgiving break.  First off, I can't believe that it's Thanksgiving Week already ( I feel like we just celebrated Labor Day); Second, it seems like each year more and more people are leaving the city earlier and extending their break longer.  What used to be an all-out flight out of town on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, now starts on Tuesday (and in some instances, Monday).  I guess folks are eager to get out of work and home to their families or else they want to avoid dealing with airport chaos (understandable).

In any case, we're gearing up for what is traditionally a busy Tuesday night during Thanksgiving Week.  While it is DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS ($1 Bud/Bud Light mugs all night long), it's even busier than normal tonight because for many people it's the last hurrah with workmates before heading off for the holiday. That usually means a wild night for us, with plenty of "interesting things" taking place.  I'm sure we'll have much of the same tonight.  Stay tuned...

On another note, Keira, a very dear friend of the bar asked me to post this note regarding a fund-raising effort on behalf of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.  Please indulge me by taking a moment to check it out and making a donation if the spirit moves you:

Dear Friends & Family –

As many of you may or may not know, my younger brother, Brian, has been under the care of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City for Ewing’s Sarcoma since June, 2010.    My sister, Sarah & I along with others will be participating in Cycle for Survival in February, 2011 and we are asking for your help in helping “Team Cuddy” raise funds for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and its continued research that will lead to new, more effective ways to treat rare cancers, which Ewing’s Sarcoma is considered.

If you would like to make a donation to “Team Cuddy” please go to the website below.  Thank you so much, in advance, for your support, thoughts & prayers.

PS: Brian is doing well and should be on the road to recovery before the New Year rings in!  XOXO

I think this is a perfect way to usher in the spirit of Thanksgiving.  Anything you can do for Brian and Team Cuddy would go a long way in attaining their goal. Thanks for taking a moment to check it out!

If we don't see you between today and Thanksgiving, have a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving Break!

That's It.  That's All I Got.
