GAME ON!

It's Thursday and I'm getting ready for what should be a chaotic night at the bar.  Why do you ask?  The Miami Dolphins are playing a rare Thursday night game vs Chicago and it's pretty safe to say that the place will be packed to the gills with fanatical Dolphins fans.  If you've ever been to the bar on a regular Sunday to see the Dolphins fans in action, it's nutty enough as it is.  Catch them during a night game when their team has center stage and forget about it.  Each time the Dolphins played a night game, we've had a line going out the door with fans waiting patiently to get in.  There was even a Monday night game where fans stood outside in the pouring rain for almost an hour just to be able to watch their team play with fellow Fins fanatics.  Crazy stuff indeed and I expect the same thing tonight.

Add to the equation that it's a must-win game for both teams in their quest for the playoffs and that makes tonight even more electric.  Kickoff is around 8:20pm but I wouldn't be surprised to see people begin showing up at around 5pm, just to stake out a good viewing spot.  I'll be sure to update the blog with photos of Game Night and the antics that come with it. 

The DOLFANS NYC Club is also using tonight's game as a fundraiser for the Miami Dolphins Foundation; For a $10 donation at the door, you'll get a drink bracelet, good for reduced price drinks during the game.  They will also be selling raffle tickets good for autographed Miami Dolphins items throughout the game.  So you'll be helping out a good cause while saving a few shekels on your cocktails at the same time!

Last night's edition of Pub Trivia was a blast!  There were about 18 teams in competition for the coveted Trivia Cup and there was a great beer promo hosted by HOMETOWN Breweries (Hometown NY Lager).  They gave out cool t-shirts and glassware and everyone seemed to have a great time.  While this was going on, I was sampling some great beers from Troegs (Mad Elf-11% ABV) and Great Lakes Brewing Co. (Christmas Ale- 7.5%ABV).  Let's just say that after a few of those, I was definitely in the spirit of giving! Whoa!  It was definitely a fun night!  Pub Trivia takes a week off (Thanksgiving) but will return the following Wednesday, (December 1)
