THE SOCIAL NETWORK....

Last night, I finally got around to watching the much-hyped movie, THE SOCIAL NETWORK.  The movie (for those of you who are still out of the loop) is roughly about the discovery of FACEBOOK and all of the players who were involved in making (or not making) it happen.  And as an avid user (yes I admit it) of the network, I was totally sucked in by the movie.  Between the storyline itself, the characters that you find yourself loving and hating at the same time, and the acting itself, THE SOCIAL NETWORK was a thoroughly entertaining film.  It also made you think about how we, as a society, tend to get sucked up into the whole "social status" thing, and how the founders of FACEBOOK were able to capitalize on it.  While we may never completely know how much of the movie is based on fact and how much creative license was given to the story, it's definitely a film worth watching. And definitely one that will make you ponder afterwards...

Woke up a bit early this morning to handle some personal errands before hitting the bar (and updating the blog).  On my way back to home base, I had the pleasure of running into RYAN MILLER, the goaltender of the Buffalo Sabres.  They are in town to play the NJ Devils and the NY Rangers.  For those of you who don't know who RYAN MILLER is, he was also the goalie for the U.S. Men's Hockey team in the Vancouver Winter Olympics, helping us to a silver medal in an incredible Final vs Canada.  Very nice guy, by the way.

BATTLE of MANCHESTER: Manchester United vs Manchester City this afternoon (2:30pm).  Big match for all of you soccer purists!

TONIGHT: "Kopparberg Pub Trivia" (8pm), featuring a night of pop culture trivia fun!  Free to play, you and your friends/co-workers can win fantabulous prizes such as bar tabs, cool bar swag and of course, bragging rights!  Get there early!

I think it's wonderful that with all of today's technology, blogs, Facebook, that they're all so easy to use and operate, even for the older generation.

Swandaddy,

Don't listen to him. He thought there was 52 states even after he counted the stars on the flag. Than told me the flag was old and wrong.
