FROSTY MUGS FOR A FROSTY NIGHT...

Winter seems to be sending us signs that it's on its way because last night was one of the first nights where you really felt its bite.  Blustery winds had NYC residents bundled up to the hilt in order to keep warm and sane.  But that didn't stop folks from stopping in for a few frosty mugs on a Tuesday night. 

There were your contingent of basketball fans, doing some pre-game before the Jimmy V Classic double-header (Memphis vs Kansas, Michigan State vs Syracuse);  There were also some folks gathering for a birthday of one of their friends.  Then you had your hockey fans taking in some games via our NHL Center Ice package. Aside from that, you had your usual contingent of office co-workers, grad students and locals looking to get out for a few hours.

In the meantime, the peanut gallery wanted to know.... What color is that whale tail?  What say you?

In the meantime, I just sat through a beer sample tasting session (I love those) and there are a lot of really good winter beers out there right now.  There is a new trend of IPA's coming out called the Black IPA which is interesting.  Imagine the hoppy taste of a traditional IPA, but dark in color.  Look for us to bring in a barrel or two in the New Year.  In the meantime, by the end of the week, you'll have the opportunity to try out a few new beers being added to the rotation:

Magic Hat Howl: (Schwarzbier, 4.6% ABV)

 Troegs Mad Elf (Belgian Strong Ale, 11% ABV) I mean VERY STRONG!
