JACK FROST 1, MURRAY HILL 0...

Remember how I said that Tuesday night was the coldest night of the year so far?  Well I stand corrected.  LAST NIGHT made Tuesday night feel like a balmy Spring evening in the tropics.  It was colder than what my cousin used to say, "A Brick Shit House". When I say it was cold, it was COLD!  The streets were empty; the restaurants in the neighborhood were empty;  It was simply desolate.

It was so cold, I was tempted to take out my AC unit right then and there, but with all of the smokers standing around outside, I didn't want to take a chance on dropping it on them.  And with the temps dropping below freezing, I was concerned at what it would do to our Pub Trivia night...

As it turned out, while we didn't have our normal packed house for Wednesday night, after taking a stroll around the neighborhood to see what the other bars were doing, we were clearly the busiest bar in the neighborhood.  The theme for this week's Pub Trivia was "The Beatles" and of course, that made for a lot of pretty bad sing-a-longs by Beatles' fans. 

Best Team Name of the Night: "These Miller High Lifes Make Me Wiki Leak A Lot!" (clever).

So in spite of the brutal temps, the atmosphere overall was festive and competitive (as always). In the meantime,  we want to thank everyone who braved the elements to swing by!  Check out the pics from last night's event on our FACEBOOK page!

UFC 124: GSP vs KOSCHECK this Saturday!  Check out the highly-anticipated World Welterweight Championship Match between Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck, captains of this year's "Ultimate Fighter " competition.  PPV event begins at 10pm ($10 cover) and look for drink specials throughout the fight!  Get there early!

I'm holding down the bar this afternoon so if you're in the neighborhood, swing by for a pint or simply say hello.  Don't forget about Thursday Night Football (Indianapolis vs Tennessee, 8pm) and there's also plenty of NHL action on ice (NY Rangers vs Ottawa, NY Islanders vs Boston, Philadelphia vs Toronto) and NCAA Hoops!  In the meantime, stay warm!
