DEAR FRIENDS FROM ACROSS THE POND

The bar was graced by a visit this week from some folks from jolly old England.  The couple, Glenn Liddle and his wonderful wife, Kirsty were accompanied on the trip by her BFF, Helen and they were visiting NYC for Glenn's birthday.

Now Glenn, Kirsty and I go WAY back; in fact, we go back almost ten years.  I remember when I first met the two.  They had come over on a visit and stumbled onto our bar one night.  They enjoyed themselves so much that they came back the next night, and the night after that, and the night after that. We hit it off so well that they made it a point to swing by and visit every time they came to New York.  They even went so far as to send their friends by the bar to visit whenever they came to the Big Apple.  Glenn owns his own pub outside of Nottingham and his wife is currently a teacher.  They both love to travel and they are one of the nicest couples I've ever met.  I think it's also safe to say that my staff loves them as well as they are very entertaining.

Last night's edition of Pub Trivia brought out a lot of the regulars that you normally see for the Wednesday night spectacle;  We also had a lot of folks in to catch Carmelo Anthony's debut with the New York Knicks.  We even got a visit from some original Sunday Brew Crew members: ANGEL and CRIMSON CAMEL TOE.  My moles tell me that they were pretty well behaved this time around (which is subjective, of course).  The crowd hung out pretty late and at the end of the night we crowned a weekly winner who will go on to our Tournament of Champions final in April.

Good times as always!

TONIGHT: "MOLSON TWIN THURSDAYS" is the deal of the night,  Two bottles of Molson Canadian for $7 bucks!  Why?  Cause they go down easy (  (M)olson Twins= easy? Ah, forget it)!  Big games in the NHL tonight, with Montreal vs Toronto and Philadelphia vs NYI highlighting a busy night on ice.  NCAA & NBA Hoops on tap as well!

Cheers!
