TOPSY TURVY WEEKEND

Just survived a hectic weekend where we saw plenty of good playoff basketball and hockey, and a HUGE rainstorm on Saturday that made a mockery of our Saturday night festivities.  Seriously speaking, I can't remember when we had a rainstorm like that.  It made Third Avenue look like a desolate ghost town. Quite frankly, I was impressed with the hockey fans that braved the weather for Saturday night's game.

One thing I did realize during Monsoon Saturday is that you find yourself attracting a lot of "interesting" characters who got no place to go.  So they are stuck at your bar and you are stuck with them and their entertaining personalities.  Always a delight.

Talk about a serious rainstorm...

If you were a hockey fan of New York, Nashville, Montreal, Vancouver, Philadelphia or Detroit, Saturday and Sunday was good times for you.  Tonight's games should prove interesting...

Basketball fans, on the other hand, found themselves finally getting into the playoff swing with games tipping off over the weekend.  Among the notable games were the Lakers and Spurs both losing their first game on home court, while the Knicks found a way to give away their game to Boston, a game they should have won.

One good thing to note: Between the NY Rangers & NY Knicks being in the playoffs, The Big Apple is finally rocking again.
