Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

NOTHING LIKE A HOT CUP OF JOE...
To calm the nerves. Stumptown Coffee in particular is the best thing since sliced bread to help ease you into the start of the day. Seriously.
I'm up especially early today to meet up with a repairman to take care of some things that need fixing at the bar. Not a big fan of waiting for repairmen as I'm sure most New Yorkers aren't (Time Warner cable guys rank high on that list); You are virtually held hostage by their time schedule which almost never matches up with yours. The fact that I waited around for the same guy yesterday for practically the whole day, only to get a call apologizing for not showing up and having to reschedule to this morning attest to that fact. Unfortunately, it's the nature of the business and you have to take the good with the bad. It doesn't mean that I have to like it. Grrrr....
Watching the WPIX Morning News and they are predicting mid to high 80's all weekend, with some showers sprinkled in. Should make for a pretty good holiday weekend. Since we really didn't have a full Spring, I'll take this forecast, no questions asked! That being said, with the weather forecast being as nice as it is, many of you are planning the annual trek out of the Big Apple for the holiday weekend. However, there are always a fractured few (myself included) that will find themselves stuck in the city over the weekend. So, with the Big Apple as an open playground for the long weekend, what would you do?
I'm open to suggestions!
HANGOVER Part II opens up today and with the long weekend, I am expecting it to do BOFFO numbers at the box office. Do you think it will live up to the original? Based on what I've seen in the trailers, I think it will.
TONIGHT is the highly anticipated Game 5 matchup between the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat. Last night the Dallas Mavericks closed out the Western Conference Finals over the Oklahoma City Thunder to earn a spot in the NBA Finals. Can the "Big Three" of Miami (LeBum, D-Wade and Bosh) close out the Bulls and punch a ticket to the Finals? We'll see tonight (8pm). Catch the game here!
LABATT BLUE promo tonight with $4 Labatt Blue bottles and giveaways during the game! Kick off the holiday weekend with us!
