ANCHORS AWAY!

What a beautiful day! 80 degrees, low humidity, now this is what Spring is supposed to feel like!  As I was running around this morning tending to my bar-related errands, I noticed a familiar sight: Sailors.  Yup, FLEET WEEK has officially begun.

For the next week, you will encounter hundreds of sailors as they take in the sights and sounds of the Big Apple, many of them for the very first time.  After months of being stuck on a ship, it's great for them to enjoy what NYC has to offer and they thoroughly enjoy the hospitality that New Yorkers heap on to them (especially the ladies).  So if you happen to come across a sailor or two (and it will be impossible not to), say hello, offer to buy them a pint (or two), and thank them for their service to our country.  For everything they sacrifice for us, it's the very least you can do.

SPORTS UPDATE: With the NBA and NHL seasons slowly coming to a close, it's looking more and more like it will be Dallas vs Miami in the NBA Finals (barring any last minute heroics), while in the NHL, Vancouver clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals last night.  The Boston Bruins have an opportunity to punch a ticket to the Finals tonight vs the Tampa Bay Lightning.  I predicted that it would be Chicago vs Oklahoma City in the NBA Finals and Vancouver vs Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup Finals. So if the current standings hold up, my stellar run at sports predictions will continue.  I use the word "stellar" sarcastically as I've been horrible at picking the winners lately.  Ugh.   As for the NY Yankees and the NY Mets?  That's another story for another day.  Stay tuned...

Plenty of day baseball this afternoon as the NY Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays (1pm)!  Or swing by tonight for Pub Trivia (8pm) as tonight's theme is MUSIC.  So study up with your co-workers and make your way for a night of pop trivia fun!  We'll also have the NHL, NBA & MLB on tap so you don't miss a thing!

Cheers!
