It's a beautiful Wednesday afternoon (the best day in quite awhile) and of course, I find myself a tad under the weather. Story of my life. Still, life at the bar goes on, so I plug away.
"Christmas in July Week" has been fun so far; My bar staff have been serving up holiday themed drinks for the occasion (my favorite is the "Spiced Apple", with Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Apple Pucker and Cranberry), and don't be surprised to see a few of them dressed up in Xmas-themed outfits throughout the week. And with the characters I got working for me, the outfits should be "interesting", to say the least! Speaking of which, the theme for PUB TRIVIA tonight is "Christmas in July"! Join us for a night of pop culture fun and maybe you'll even win some cool prizes!
I've been meaning to post this for awhile, but a hearty CONGRATS goes out to one of our former employees: TEACHER'S PET, on her recent engagement to ironically enough, one of our regulars, BEN AFFLECK! They plan on tying the knot next year and I couldn't be happier for the both of them.
Yesterday while running errands, I actually found myself outside of Murray Hill for a change; I ended up in SoHo, or the "Land of the Pretty People" as I like to call it. During my visit to SoHo, I came across the MLS All Star Game Fan Fest (or Hub) on Mercer St. So I figured I would stop in and see what was going on.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much buzz taking place at the "Hub". Aside from the obligatory swag booths, photo stands and a few foosball tables, there wasn't really anything that caught my eye. Maybe it was due to it being in the middle of the afternoon? Who knows. One highlight of my brief visit there was the sighting of ALEX MORGAN, the hot soccer player for the U.S. Women's Team. She was being interviewed by MLS Online and so there was a small crowd gathered for that (when I say small, I'm talking like ten people). She didn't stick around after her interview, much to the disappointment of the ten rabid fans who wanted to get her autograph. Life of a mega star I guess.
