CATCHING UP

It's been more than a few days since my last post.  Between the usual hectic day-to-day interactions of the bar, a more than busy sports schedule of late and most recently, a bout with strep throat, let's just say I haven't been able to give the laptop any love.

Since my last post, I've encountered:

-United Nations Gridlock hell
-Countless number of HARDCORE college football fans 
-A cigar-chomping old fogie who's become a wart in my fanny
-Nail-biting fantastic finishes 
-More than usual number of geeky drunk folks
-Drama mamas out the ying-yang
-Sad and/or angry Miami Dolphins fans
-A very happy Cleveland Browns fan
-A drunken idiot who asked me for a bartending job in on breath, only to find himself get the boot for being a drunken arsehole later.
-Visits from old friends of the bar (always nice).
-And a rather large turnout of FDNY guys for a fundraiser for one of their own.

And if that wasn't enough of a sample of what my week's been like, how about a taxi cab fire right out in front of the bar yesterday?  My week's been such a blur that I almost forgot about that!

It's been that kind of week.  In the meantime, I apologize again for the lack of posts. I'll try to keep the posts coming on a more regular basis.  One can only try, right?

In the meantime, it's still Tuesday, which means only one thing for you: DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS! $1 Bud/Bud Light mugs all night long and while you're throwing them back, you can watch the BOSTON RED SOX complete their meltdown as they play Baltimore while the NY Yankees rest their starters against Tampa Bay.

AND FINALLY: For those of you looking for them, there's plenty of pics from this past week's edition of BREW CREW SUNDAY on our FACEBOOK page.  It was rather bittersweet for me personally as my CLEVELAND BROWNS rallied from behind to beat our MIAMI DOLPHINS, 17-16.  So while I was happy that my team won, it came at the expense of the team that calls Third and Long home, the DOLFANS NYC club.  So I kinda felt bad for them.
