The past weekend was pretty eventful for the bar as we found ourselves transformed (temporarily) to "THIRD and LIN", in honor of NY Knicks rookie phenom, Jeremy Lin.  For starters, as soon as we put up our sign, Time Warner and MSG Network worked out their stalemate, much to our chagrin.

That being said, we still wanted to keep the signs up for the weekend, just to have some fun with it and to see what kind of attention it would bring.  And boy did it bring us some attention!  Between the TV coverage from the local news (News 4 New York & Channel 7 Eyewitness News), international media and throngs of curious pedestrians who whipped out camera phones to take pictures of the bar, I have to say, our little tribute to Jeremy Lin was a huge success!

And even as we were taking down the signage yesterday, folks were clamoring to take pictures of the sign because they thought it was cool.  We even had to turn down a request from a Chinese TV crew to put the sign back up so that they could film it.

So with that, we wish the NY Knicks and Jeremy Lin well and hope that they continue their success and make it to the playoffs.  It's pretty evident that both Lin and the Knicks have taken the city by storm and between what they have going on and the success that the NY Rangers are experiencing,  Madison Square Garden is a fun place to be again.

TONIGHT: "Mardi Gras Madness" ($3 Abita Purple Haze & S.O.S., $3 Hurricane Shots and plenty of giveaways all night long)!  NY Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens vs Dallas Stars,  NJ Devils vs Toronto Maple Leafs & NY Islanders vs Buffalo Sabres also on tap!

It's shaping up to be a fun night!
