After days of massive backlash from fans, sports pundits, bloggers and such, the NFL finally got the hint and took care of business. They went back to the negotiating table and hammered out a deal with the National Football League Referee Association. As a result, starting with tonight's game (Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens), there will be competent referees on the field again. And not a moment too soon. The NFL had to get this done as the PR backlash was becoming a legitimate threat on the brand name. And so they did. Both parties put aside their egos and got a deal done, for the betterment of the brand. It's that simple.
Now if hockey could only take a page from this book. *Le Sigh*
