PUB TRIVIA WEDNESDAYS

Last night was another fun-filled edition of PUB TRIVIA WEDNESDAYS at the bar. The crowd was enthusiastic and I was pretty impressed that they quickly grasped the theme of the evening (MIGHTY DUCKS- questions related to the movies, not the NHL team). And once again, I was impressed by the number of babes who showed up for the fun.

If you want to see more of this.... then you better show up next Wednesday!

It seems that we've stumbled upon a fool-proof formula: Pub Trivia+Great Drink Specials= lots of nice looking women. Not sure how it works or what planets need to be aligned to make the madness happen, but I can assure you that I'm not complaining.

FUNNY QUOTE OF THE NIGHT (from a slightly dizzy blonde): "I didn't know that Ben Franklin wasn't a president!".

SCUBA STEVE and MISS WISCONSIN

Good job by OPIE CUNNINGHAM and his capable staff. More PUB TRIVIA next Wednesday!

TODAY: "Bucket O'Lights" (5/$15.00), featuring Miller Lite, Michelob Light and Coors Light bottles. We're also featuring a SAM ADAMS LIGHT promotion featuring buckets of SAM ADAMS LIGHT (5/$15.00).

And to celebrate the kickoff of OKTOBERFEST, we're featuring 20oz "steins" of SAM ADAMS or SAM ADAMS OCTOBERFEST ($7.00 for the first one, $5.00 refills)!

Enjoy the day and don't forget the umbrella!

COUNTDOWN TO BREW CREW SUNDAY......

Now that Labor Day has come and gone, it's time to move forward to what's really important: FOOTBALL SEASON!!! The NFL officially kicks off this Thursday when the defending Super Bowl champion NY GIANTS face off against their arch-rivals, the WASHINGTON REDSKINS. The game itself starts earlier than normal (7pm), due to the Republican National Convention. But let's focus on something a bit more important, shall we?

S-U-N-D-A-Y is the day we're all looking forward to as we kick off another season of BREW CREW SUNDAYS. That usually means tons of football, beers, bawdy humor and fun. With many of the old-timers set to return and a possible new faces, this year should no doubt be just as fun as years past. Some of the returnees expected back include NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, SILENT BOB, DIRTY SANCHEZ, JOHN CUSACK, MR. LOW-KEY, STIFFLER, BABY GIRL, T-BILL, AFRIKA BAMBATTA, MR. CHIPS, THE SPIN DOCTOR, BETTY BOOP, SMURFETTE, THE MAYOR of MURRAY HILL, HORNY GOATWEED, THE CORNER BOYS, SUPERFLY SHAFT, ANGEL, and the dreaded STEELER NATION just to name a few.

As always, there's a few surprises in store for the upcoming season and with five additional TV's, more football games for all to enjoy!

So gear up boys and girls, this should be one hell of a bumpy ride! For those who are interested in checking out the mystique that comes with the SUNDAY BREW CREW, I suggest you swing by this Sunday and see it for yourself. Totally worth the trip!

DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS tonight ($1.00 Bud/Bud Light mugs, ALL NIGHT LONG)

More to come!

RECAP: BLONDE CHATTERBOX'S SENDOFF SOIREE

Last night, Third and Long hosted a good-bye party for BLONDE CHATTERBOX, a long-time bartender and good friend to the bar. After five years of good pouring fun, "CHATTERBOX" style, she's taking advantage of a job promotion that has her moving out west (to San Diego, of all places) and beginning a new chapter in her life.

Over the years, BLONDE CHATTERBOX has been a mainstay of the bar. On any given Thursday you could find her dispensing advice on the important topics of the day, such as "What shade of eye shadow to use", or "Purple leggings, thumbs up, thumbs down", or the saga of her ongoing lovelife. And if you were lucky, you could even get a drink order in as well! In any case, she developed quite the following over the years and many of her devoted fans came by to say their goodbyes. I have to admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of BLONDE CHATTERBOX when she first came on board. She kinda reminded me of REESE WITHERSPOON's "Tracey Flick" character in the film, ELECTION: Perky, energetic, diva-like, all traits that drive me nuts.

However, over the years CHATTERBOX somehow grew on me and when I finally become fond of her, now she decides to move. Oh well, that's the story of my life. In any case, there were plenty of well-wishers who stopped by to show love to our resident Diva and all told it was a pretty fun night! I'll let the photos tell the story.

"Um... wake up Kyle. You're at a party for chrissakes!"

More photos to come. Trust me, we've just scratched the surface.
