A CHICKEN ROLL. REALLY???
Last night was one of those subdued Tuesday nights in which the crowd was pretty tame. Usually with Dollar Draft Madness, the crowd lives up to its name: Madness. With dollar mugs of Bud Light flowing, music pumping, co-workers and friends drinking toasts to one another, it's usually a bang-up time.
But for some reason, last night felt more like a speakeasy kind of crowd. Casual, laid back, more into casual conversation than doing Irish Car Bombs. Whaddaya going to do? It happens from time to time. You roll with it.
One interesting moment came when a guy who was hanging out with this chick amid a long-term makeout session, decided to come up for air and go to the pizza place for a slice. Next thing you know, there's a commotion outside. We rush outside to see what's going on, and it's the same guy, getting into a shoving match with the Pizza Guy. The Pizza Guy is yelling at him, and the guy is screaming back at him "Where's my Chicken Roll? I paid six bucks for a Chicken Roll and you didn't give it to me!" He kept screaming about the Chicken Roll over and over and I couldn't help but to think to myself "Are we really fighting over a Chicken Roll? Really??" .
Next thing you know, the cops show up and the Pizza Guy goes over and tells them what happened. The cops go over to the guy and get his version of what took place. Next thing you know, the whole thing's over with. At the end of the day, the cops left, the Pizza Guy left and the guy was out of a Chicken Roll. At least he didn't get arrested. Imagine sitting in Central Booking and the guy sitting in the cell next to you, who's there for assault with a deadly weapon asks you why you're there and you say "Um, I got into a fight over a Chicken Roll.". Marvelous.
At the end of the night we got a last-minute hit from a group of about twenty-five tourists from Vermont, in town for some kind of convention. Nothing crazy, but at least it allowed the bar to go out on a high note. Yay.

I could see a chicken wing, but a chicken roll? Just not worth it.
