WINDING DOWN...
As we head into the last week of July and towards the dog days of August, a few things became abundantly clear to me:
A) This has to be the hottest summer I've experienced since I moved to New York back in '84. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure feels like it.
B) We're practically into August and I'm still stuck in Murray Hill. My window of opportunity to take a trip is closing quickly.
C) Football Season is quickly approaching, which means see B).
D) I can't remember a time where I've come across the sheer number of knuckleheads as I have so far this summer. Must be yet another sign of the decline of civilization as we know it.
Bottom line: Summer is flying by. If you don't stop and take note of it, you'll have missed it all and bitch about that come Fall. I should listen to my own advice.
QUESTION of the DAY: What is it about our bar that causes folks to want to get their "Jiggy" on? Whether it be inside the bar or in the case of last Friday, out on the stoop of our building. A drunken couple decided that they would take things to at least "third base" out in public display, much to the chagrin of many a passerby. We're talking yet another case of public finger-blasting. I don't get it. Get a hotel room people!!
The "Bros Icing Bros" made another appearance again on Sunday as not ONE but TWO different folks got "Iced" by their friends. I still don't get the point of it all, but hey, as long as they continue buying Smirnoff Ice, who cares. Here's the funny part: Smirnoff is officially swearing off this stunt, stating they don't stand behind it. But I'm pretty sure that behind closed doors, they are whooping it up as sales of Smirnoff Ice continue to go through the roof!
There's a lot going on this week and I'll be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, brace yourself for yet another scorcher of a week. I hope your Con-Ed bills don't give you a heart attack!
One month to go until NFL/College football season kicks off. Two more months before we drop the puck again in the NHL!
That's It. That's All I Got.
