Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY....
After a weekend that included a fun relaxing Saturday night at the bar where drama was surprisingly enough, non-existent, we found ourselves getting a long-overdue blast of rain. While the rain posed havoc for the street fair and for business in general, it was still a welcome relief since it broke the dreaded heat and humidity streak we been riding all these days.
The problem is, now that the rain has finally come, it doesn't seem to want to stop. From the time I closed up shop last night, until the time I woke up this morning, up until now, it's been rain, rain, rain. Not a good way to start the week. Grrr....
The English Premier League is finally in high gear and I've been getting my soccer fix in while waiting for football season to begin. My team (ASTON VILLA) has had mixed success thus far, which is understandable since they are currently playing without a coach. Nothing like the drama of a coach quitting right before the season opener to get everyone in a funky mood. But hope springs eternal, they always say.
Heading into the new week, I am happy to say that we are officially less than three weeks away from the kickoff of the NFL season and everyone's in a tizzy. Between pre-season games, fantasy football drafts, trash-talking by guys and girls alike, and of course, the jockeying for seating position for Brew Crew Sundays, it's enough to make me giddy (I can't believe I just used the word "giddy").
In the meantime, we've been tinkering with the weekly drink specials and since we're heading into the Fall season, we've revamped our daily specials, now offering up $4 Domestic Drafts/Mixed Well Drinks (12-5pm, Mon-Fri). So bring your lunch, catch some matinee baseball or afternoon soccer matches (we carry both the Premier League as well as Champions League) and take a load off during your lunch hour!
That's it for now. Gotta take care of business at the salt mines. More to come....
