THE LONG RUN....

If you haven't heard yet, FDNY member and co-owner of Third and Long's MATT LONG is releasing a book detailing his long journey back from the horrific bus accident that nearly took his life in December 2005.

Read in detail the struggles he endured and the obstacles he overcame as he worked his way from his hospital bed back to the streets of NYC and the running of the NY Marathon, and ultimately, the Lake Placid Ironman.

A truly inspiring piece, you can read an excerpt of the book at The Runner's World's website. If you're interested in purchasing an advance copy of the book, click on the book cover (see right).

A truly inspiring piece.

Great excerpt of the book - is Matt going to have a book signing / fundraiser at 3&L?

hi, I actually just read the article about Matt in Runner's World and wanted to thank him. First, I think he's inspirational, and just what I needed right now. While what I am going through is nowhere near what he has had to endure, I am facing surgery and a rehab. I had foot surgery in March while I was training for my first triathlon (which is in October), and just found out I will be having a second foot surgery next week, scrapping my plans for the tri. :( I am really bummed and am scared about another rehabbing stint, but after reading his story, I want to go get his book and psych myself up for a hard but worthwhile rehab journey back to running and triathlon!
