REPEAT PERFORMANCE...

Well, it looks like I have to be the bearer of bad news (or good news, depending on who you are a supporter of), in announcing that the FLORIDA GATORS succeeded in defending their national championship by defeating my mighty OHIO STATE BUCKEYES, 84-75. It was a pretty good game and my Buckeyes gave a valiant effort, but the weapon that they lived by throughout the tournament, turned out to be their undoing as their 3-point shooting simply disappeared on them, while the Gators simply shot lights out from behind the arc. I have to give the Gators their due- they did what they had to do to win; even with the big man GREG ODEN finally having a good game.

There were plenty of supporters from both teams at the bar and the place had a buzz to it, long before the game began. For starters, when I arrived, there were some Yankee fans there who'd been at Opening Day; They drove to the bar in this god-awful looking van, adorned with Yankee pinstripes. It was freakin' ugly.

Now I totally respect one's need to show pride in their team; hell I do it myself. But there has to be some limits. This van is just plain fugly. Nothing else to be said about that. Damn. And the individuals who owned this vehicle... Typical Staten Island wannabe goombahs who were feeling no pain when they got to the bar and by the time we "escorted" them out of the bar, the full-blown white-trashiness that I've come to expect from them came out in full bloom. Ugh. Talk about a pain in the ass.

Gator fans enjoying the moment. Can you blame them?

AFRIKA BAMBATTA and NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, enjoying themselves while gloating at my expense...

DIRTY SANCHEZ and his lovely friend, er whatshername; I'd introduce you but we were never formally introduced...

SILENT BOB, BETTY BOOP and I, sensing that the end is near...

COORS LIGHT models showing some love...

The RUNNING MAN, making a surprise appearance with his crew...

I was so into the game that I didn't realize the number of hotties floating around the bar. That just shows you where my priorities were....

By the end of the game, the Gator fans were rejoicing and the Buckeye fans were crying in their beers. As painful as it was to lose, no one can say that I'm not gracious in defeat. I shook hands with the Gator fans, gave them their props and had a congratulatory shot with the victors.

BETTY BOOP consoling me...

Apparently this young lady and her freaky-deaky Staten Island Yankee posse weren't too pleased about the outcome... They were asked to leave.

The boys didn't seem to happy to leave either. Oh well.

So while the night was a painful one for me, it was still fun nevertheless. Congrats once again to Florida and the Gator fans. They earned their title, fair and square.

As for the Buckeyes, there's always next year.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTERFINALS @ 2:30pm (PSV Eindhoven vs. Liverpool FC) and DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS continues tonight...

Tough game, painful to watch. Oden...I like that guy. Very humble and down to earth.

So Swandaddy, are you a Twins fan? Baseball season is here and I'm all about the Twins.
