Celebrity Sightings(?)

While running errands today I ran into a couple of local celebrities; to what status level they fall under, well, I guess it's kinda hard to say. They wouldn't be what you'd call BRAD PITT/ANGELINA JOLIE status, but they are pretty well known for NYC standards (I think).

The first one was EARLE HYMAN, better known as RUSSELL HUXTABLE (Cliff's Dad) from the COSBY SHOW. He was dining outside alone of CALIENTE CAB Co. on East 33rd Street. As I walked by him, I noticed that he was getting up to leave. Struggling to get up with a cane, he tried to flag down a cab. I then walked out to the street and flagged down a cab for him and helped him get in. He thanked me and off he went. Pretty nice guy, however, I couldn't help but to feel bad; He was definitely showing his age, and I think that he may have recently had a stroke or something. Keeping in mind that he was old twenty years ago when the show first aired, it actually made me feel old now.

The second celebrity sighting was one that's sports related: BOBBY MURCER, former player with the NY Yankees; Currently working part-time as a TV commentator for the team, he'd recently undergone brain surgery to remove a tumor (I think that's what it was); He was walking with I think was his son and grandson; he had a bit of a buzz-cut, no doubt due to the recent surgery. He looked in great shape otherwise. I waved at him and he acknowledged me, which was nice. Nothing worse than not being acknowledged when you acknowledge someone (i.e. punk-ass Steve Harvey).

In the Big Apple, on any given day you never know who you'll bump into on the street.

Finally, due to popular demand, we're bringing in PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) in CANS! Prior to today, we carried PBR's in bottles and time after time people asked for the cans. So, there you are- we have them!

That's it for now! More updates later!

How about a one of those turbo hand dryers for the bathroom like other bars. People have been requesting those for years!

Or get some paper down there!
