RANDOM THOUGHTS.*With all of the stuff going on in my topsy-turvy world, you would think that I'd finally get some positive vibes going my way. Then I get hit with this bit of news:
JESSICA ALBA'S PREGNANT.
Yes, it's true. America's sexy little dimepiece got knocked up by her boyfriend, producer CASH WARREN. Are you kidding me? What a waste. Cross her off my "Possible Mrs. SwanFather List". Grrrrr....
*Today is the big news conference regarding the use of steroids in Major League Baseball. Senator GEORGE MITCHELL reveals his findings after a 20-month fact-finding probe. Apparently he's naming names and taking no prisoners. Prepare for bloodshed- it won't be pretty, though I'm sure he'll no doubt reveal what we already know: That baseball is tainted.
And the first bomb has been dropped in the Baseball probe. CLICK HERE to see who got fingered. You might be surprised... then again, you might not.
*Finally saw NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN the other night. A film based on the book by CORMAC McCARTHY, this was one of those films that times, made you laugh, cringe, scratch your head, and at times even frustrate the hell out of you. With all that being said, however, it was superbly made and will no doubt garner many nominations come Oscar time. JAVIER BARDIM steals the movie, in my opinion in his role as the film's villain. Slick, cold, cunning and yet, funny in a weird way, his performance at times gave me the chills. Excellent work. Another gem by one of my favorite directors, THE COEN BROTHERS. In my opinion, their best work since FARGO and MILLER'S CROSSING.If you haven't seen it yet, check it out. I will probably have to see it again myself simply because there are so many subplots that I'm still eager to figure out.
*Many of you have asked me whatever happened with the "Mystery Date" I was trying to set up? Well, at this point, the two parties are on email level and were due to hook up for a date at any time now. As a matter of fact, I think that if they haven't gone on a date by now, they will surely meet at the Holiday Party. Hmmmmm....
Speaking of which- the 17th Annual Third and Long Holiday Party takes place this Sunday. A time-honored tradition, the Holiday Party is usually one of the more enjoyable affairs that leave people talking for days after. It's a way for the bar to give something back to its loyal patrons for a great year, and this year is no exception. We're very appreciative of our loyal patrons and never forget that without them, there would be no Third and Long. So I hope to see everyone there this Sunday and you can be sure that a good time will be had by all!
THURSDAY NIGHT: NFL action with DENVER vs HOUSTON (8pm) on the NFL NETWORK. You know the routine by now. NFL NETWORK only exists on Direct TV here in NYC, so if you are hoping to catch the game on Time-Warner or RCN (or Cablevision), you, my friend are out of luck. So catch the game here and enjoy $4.00 light beers (all light beers, bottles AND drafts) during the game.
Thanks again to COORS LIGHT for their NY RANGERS promo last night. Some lucky patron won a pair of tickets to see the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Don't forget- we carry all NHL games on the NHL CENTER ICE package!
AND FINALLY: Winter Storm or Not? Stay tuned....

I like to think of Jessica Alba getting knocked up and not the fact that she is knocked up. The actual process, with her body, had to have been nothing short of heavenly. At least it would have been if I were on the scene...
Mystery date? Holiday Party? 100% chance of a hook up. (The pressure's on!!!)
B to the...
