ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL EVENING....

Last night was another spectacular night, in more ways than one. The weather was a delight- it made it very hard to be inside a bar when it would have been much more enjoyable relaxing with a cocktail outside somewhere.

That being said, we ended up being busy anyway, thanks to the highly-anticipated matchup between MONTREAL and PHILADELPHIA in the NHL Playoffs. The phone kept ringing off the hook all afternoon prior to gametime with calls from anxious Canadians fans, checking to make sure we would carry the game.

So by 7pm, the rear of the bar was filled with hockey fans and happy hour enthusiasts, co-existing peacefully.... at least for awhile. Once the game began, the banter between Canadians' fans and Flyer fans kicked in.

The game itself was pretty fast-paced and intense, followed by a thrilling finish. The Canadians found themselves down 3-2 with about 31 seconds left when they scored to send the game into overtime. The place went nuts.

Once overtime began, the Canadians scored within the first minute of overtime and just like that, the game was over, much to the delight of the diehard fans from the North. A thrilling finish indeed. Canadians win, 4-3.

In the other game, the RedWings of Detroit squeaked out a hard-fought victory over Colorado, 4-3. Both matchups resume on Saturday.
