BON VOYAGE.

I am sad to report to all of my friends and blog readers that today will be my last day at Third and Long.

After 16 years of service, I have reached the end of my rope with the bar business. While it has allowed me to meet many great people along the way, it has also meant a lot of sacrifices along the way for myself. Lack of a social life (which is ironic since I work in a social setting), countless hours behind the scenes toiling away, very little sleep, etc. On top of that, I'm not getting any younger and as they say in the business, "the bait ain't getting any fresher". And to be honest, I'm not a fan of stalkers and I've gotten my share of them of late. So with that on my mind, now is as good a time as any to pick up and move on.

What's next for me? Take a bit of time to recharge the batteries. I've always wanted to visit Easter Island so that's where I'll start and take it from there. I'm scheduled to hit Vegas at the end of the month for NAPOLEON DYNAMITE's Bachelor Party, so I'll re-connect with a few of the regulars then, but other than that..... I'm off in the wind.

I want to thank everyone for having such an impact on my life the past 16 years. You have connected with me in more ways than you'll ever know. From the Long Family who gave me my start, to the Sunday Brew Crew, who keeps me on my toes constantly, it's been emotional. As Bea Arthur put it once: "After being in this business for a long time, I've done everything except Rodeo and Porno". It's time for something else. Thanks for the memories.
