MLB HR DERBY..... Notice Anything?
What's unique about this year's HR Derby participants?
No participants of color in this bunch. Hmmmmm....... Can't remember the last time that happened. Go figure! Your thoughts?
Not saying that you bring back Barry B, but how do you not put in a Ryan Howard or your guy Prince Fielder, at least? Hanley Ramirez, Vlad Guerrero, Carlos Delgado, are others that could have been considered...
One has nothing to do with the other. When you have the AL HR leader in the HR Derby (who happens to be white) and the NL HR leader not involved (who leads the major league in HR's btw and is of color), doesn't it make you scratch your head just a bit?
Now I'm not saying that this was done on purpose- it could simply be coincidential. I'm just making an observation and scratching my own head, that's all.
It's an invitation event, you dingleberry. Folks of varying degrees of non-Caucasoid color, like A-Rod, declined to participate.
In addition, the demographics of baseball have changed to the point where American black guys are under-represented in MLB in relation to their population percentage.
I don't recall focusing on any specific underrepresented race in this thread- I simply said that it was strange to see no person of color involved in this year's HR Derby.
Like I said before... I'm just making an observation.....

no cares that theres hardly any white guys playing basketball. why does it matter if any people of color arent in the home run derby
