ESPN DRAFT PARTY= SHIT SHOW PERSONIFIED.

Last night I took a break from the renovations to partake in a ESPN Fantasy Football Draft party at the recently opened BROTHER JIMMY'S BBQ, a few blocks away. From what I took from the invitation sent to me by ESPN, the event was supposed to be closed to 100 select participants, drafting a team with the hopes of ultimately winning a trip to the Super Bowl.

What it turned out to be was a free-for-all shit show, involving media/advertising types looking to cash in on the open bar and free grub, sponsored by Geico and Verizon. The venue (BROTHER JIMMY'S) was your typical Southern-style BBQ shack, amped up a notch to hold a lot of people. For some strange reason, they chose to really make it feel like the South because there wasn't any AC cranking anywhere in the joint. So when the place filled up, it got hot. Quickly.

The organizers of the event should be fired for the shoddy production they put together. Needless to say, there was no draft to be had. The only good thing out of the whole night was the open bar (they had free grub too, but the chances of me getting to any grub was nil). An annoying night indeed.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:

It seems that one of own got the blogging bug! MR. TANQUERAY has started his own blog, called HARD TACKLES AND DIRTY BATHS, An interesting take on his love for all things soccer and oddities. Check it out!

We're reaching the homestretch of the renovations process. We should be up and running very soon. Stay tuned for more details!
