OH HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN...

I haven't had much to say when it came to my favorite football team, the CLEVELAND BROWNS (a.k.a. the America's Team or the Cleveland Clowns). Up to this point they'd only won ONE game all season. They hired a clown as a coach (Eric "Mangenious" Mangini), who came in and basically destroyed the spirit of the team and the city in one fell swoop. They were officially dubbed "The Bye Week" by practically everyone else in the NFL. And to make matters worse, they were prepared to face their arch-rival, the PITTSBURGH STEELERS, a team they'd lost 12 straight games to. You can imagine how much confidence I had going into last night's game.

However, there were other factors in place going into last night's game. The Steelers were having their own issues, having dropped four straight games, including losses to lowly Kansas City and Oakland in back-to-back weeks. This was the perfect bounceback game for them. However, things didn't quite go according to plan.

The weather was ridiculously cold (18 degrees at kickoff), which made handling the football an issue. That being said, The Browns found something within them to pull off the perfect game: Lots of ball-control offense; timely defense, especially on 3rd down; constant pressure on Big Ben, their MVP quarterback (8 sacks, including 5 in the first half); All of that proved to be what the doctor ordered as the Browns pulled off the upset of the season, knocking off the defending Super Bowl champions and probably knocking them out of the playoff hunt in the process. While the Steelers still have an outside chance of making the playoffs (they need a LOT of help), for the Browns, this WAS their Super Bowl. All I have to say is that the Three Rivers must be burning right now... and as a Browns fan, you gotta love it!

THEY'RE BAAAAACK!

Batten down the hatches boys and girls, it's time for the invasion of the Santas. Yes, SANTACON invades New York City this Saturday. What is Santacon? It's the one day out of the year where everyone channels their inner-Santa and take to the streets decked out in Santa garb and party all day long. It's a visual and virtual shit show. And probably one of the funniest things you'll ever see. Tall Santas, short Santas, thin Santas, little Santas, you name it, you'll probably see every incarnation of St. Nicholas roaming the streets on Saturday.

One of the funniest things I ever saw took place last year during Santacon. I was walking across East 34th Street and there were at least five Santas, standing against the wall, being frisked by a cop, while a sixth Santa was off to the side, puking on the street. You can't make this stuff up. I can only imagine what this year's Santacon will bring...

REMINDER: UFC 107: PENN vs SANCHEZ takes place on Saturday night (1opm). NO COVER CHARGE!
