Last night, America witnessed one of the best performances by a QB in an NFL game in quite a long time when
Michael Vick single-handily dismantled the
Washington Redskins (much to the dismay of
AFRIKA BAMBATTA), on their home field, 59-28. It was a performance for the ages:
SIX touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing), over
300 yards passing, almost
100 yards rushing, becoming the first player in NFL history to achieve such a feat. And it wasn't just the numbers that blew everyone away. It was how he did it- with such precision and execution, it was lethal. Before you could get up for a piss break, it was already 35-0, and the 2nd quarter had just begun. It was a masterful performance. Say what you want about
Michael Vick and his off-the-field issues, but damn this man can play some football!
After the game,
ESPN began airing 24 straight hours of college hoops to hype up the opening of the college basketball season. It's a gimmick that
ESPN has done for a number of years and I gotta say, it's pretty cool. Going to bed and waking up to live hoops action is a great way to draw attention to the season (You can catch all of the games at the bar throughout the day).
And if all of that wasn't enough, did anyone catch the overtime game between the
NY Rangers and the
Pittsburgh Penguins?
Ryan Callahan's game-winning overtime goal for the
Rangers was definitely something for the ages. Sweet stuff.
As it turns out, Monday night was a night of highlight reel action in the world of sports. I wonder what we'll get tonight? Stay tuned....

Vick's "off-the-field issues" are more than three years old (unless you're counting "in-the-pen" issues). As a proud dog owner I've forgiven/forgotten about it. Why ya gotta bring it up?
Funny thing is, if/when he signs a new deal, all that upfront guaranteed money will go straight to his creditors.
