"THE DAY" has arrived!

It's been a few days since my last post, my apologies for that.

However, if there was a day to post, this would be the one because I can FINALLY declare today as "THE DAY"!  Blog followers know what that is:  It's the first day of Spring where the ladies wear next to nothing in anticipation of that first hot day.  The weather's perfect, and everyone knows it as the suit jackets are off, shorts are in play, as are tank tops and lots of skin.  New Yorkers are rejoicing, as am I.  Huzzah!  Huzzah!  Huzzah!

Last night's edition of PUB TRIVIA started out slowly, but ended up being pretty entertaining.  More new faces in the house and even a large contingent of tourists from Australia and England were in the house and enjoying the spirited competition.  The theme for the night was GAME SHOWS and I have to say, the hosts had some pretty clever questions that stumped more than a few teams.  All in all, it was a pretty good night.

NEWS FLASH!

THIRD and LONG is celebrating 20 years of "Good, Pouring Fun"!  We announced earlier this year that the bar was entering its 20th season and that we were going to celebrate with a series of fun events throughout the year.  We'll, clear the calendar because the fun starts now!  Starting with a week-long celebration of good times past, the week of April 9-15 will be declared "Third and Long Week"!  There will be vintage drink specials, and great events planned throughout the week, so look for some great times ahead!

Since we're on the subject of celebrating anniversaries, we are putting a call out to all current and former members and friends of the bar to submit photos of their time at the bar.  We are trying to update our new Facebook Timeline and it would really be great to have photos of various events of the last 20 years!  If you have a photo that you wouldn't mind submitting to us, email it to us at: thirdandlongnyc@gmail.com. 


TONIGHT:  March Madness returns to the spotlight with four games on tap:  SYRACUSE vs WISCONSIN (7pm, w/audio),  MICHIGAN STATE vs LOUISVILLE (7:45p);  OHIO STATE vs CINCINNATI and MARQUETTE vs FLORIDA.  Enjoy $4 Sam Adams pints during the March Madness games!  Plus we'll have NHL action, with Washington vs Philadelphia (7pm)!  Enjoy $4 Molson Canadian, Labatt Blue and Labatt Blue Light (5-10pm).
