IT WAS A "MAD-MAD-WEEKEND"...

It was another whirlwind weekend at the bar, thanks to MARCH MADNESS and the highly anticipated return of Don Draper and the cast of "MAD MEN".

College basketball fans got a treat this weekend with the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games.  We almost had a Cinderella Story play out when the Ohio University Bobcats almost pulled off the upset of the tournament, taking North Carolina to overtime before finally losing to the Tar Heels.  North Carolina hoped that they could survive without their injured point guard but Kansas proved to be too much for them.  Syracuse tried to continue their improbable run without Fab Melo but finally got derailed by Ohio State.  Louisville came out of nowhere to knock out Michigan State and Florida to muscle their way to the Final Four.  And finally, Kentucky, the overall favorite, continued to show dominance over its opponents, dispatching Iowa State and Indiana with relative ease.

So the FINAL FOUR is set: OHIO STATE vs KANSAS and KENTUCKY vs LOUISVILLE face one another this Saturday night to see who gets to play for the National Championship next Monday.  It's a pretty formidable Final Four lineup and it should be a fun watch!

In the meantime, we had a enthusiastic crowd on hand on Sunday night to check out the long-awaited Season 5 premiere of MAD MEN. It was a two-hour premiere, filled with lots of eye-opening changes in the world of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.  The episode itself wasn't that deep, but it was pretty entertaining, especially the events surrounding Don Draper's surprise 40th Birthday party.   And the highlight of that party, no doubt, was the little song his French-Canadian wife performed for him- shades of Marilyn Monroe, if you will.  There are some social commentary issues brewing this season (Civil Rights movement), as well, so this should be a great season to look forward to. After the show, many of the patrons asked if this would be a reoccurring thing at Third and Long.  We'll continue to air Mad Men each Sunday night and if you are a fan of the show, you're more than welcome to join us each and every Sunday at 10pm!

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINALS: We're down to 8 teams in the quest for Champions League glory, and the quarterfinals begin on Tuesday, with REAL MADRID facing APOEL and CHELSEA facing BENFICA on Tuesday, March 27th;   Followed by BARCELONA vs AC MILAN and BAYERN MUNICH vs MARSEILLE on Wednesday, March 28th.  All matches begin at 2:45pm and we'll air all matches LIVE!  Enjoy $4 bottles of ESTRELLA DAMN during the matches!

AND FINALLY: We're two weeks away from kicking off ANNIVERSARY WEEK at Third and Long! 20 years at the same location is a long time and we want to celebrate in a way that only we know how- with a week filled with good times!  So mark your calendars (April 9-15th) and prepare yourselves for a week of good memories and "Good, Pouring Fun"!   Check back for a more detailed list of events!  Hope to see patrons of both the past and present attending the festivities!

Cheers!
