The atmosphere was intense and you could feel the tension in the air as the fans of both local teams were cautiously optimistic about their chances. Everyone predicted close games and their predictions came true as both games ended up being close... too close for comfort in some cases.
When all was said and done, both teams had reason to celebrate as they won their games and made their fans very, very happy! It was a great turnout for the games and everyone is now looking forward to the second round of the NHL playoffs.
That being said, this will be a great weekend for NYC sports fans as both the NY Rangers and NJ Devils dive into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The NY Knicks also begin their quest for the NBA championship with a first round match-up with the Miami Heat. The bad news in all of this: Due to some bizarre scheduling quirk, the NY Rangers and the NY Knicks find themselves playing their respective games AT THE SAME TIME on Saturday (3pm) and on Monday (8pm). Ugh. But we'll manage.
So catch your breath and get ready for another wacky weekend of sports! Great job to the Rangers and Devils!
