BOUNCEBACK FRIDAY

Just a quick post while I'm trying to stay cool on this DISGUSTINGLY HOT Saturday.  After a brutally quiet Thursday night on the strip, things bounced back nicely on Friday.  It all started out with a surprise engagement announcement by our neighbor and former bartender, Kristen and her fiancee, Adam.  He proposed to her on the rooftop of our building, while their family and friends waited anxiously at the bar.   Pretty funny how it all went down, considering that I had been teasing the both of them about taking the plunge a few weeks earlier..

Congratulations to the both of them and we wish them well!

Speaking of engagements and weddings, while Thursday night was a relatively quiet affair, one interesting highlight was the strange bachelorette party that came in.

For starters, it was a co-ed bachelorette party which I've never seen before.  Second, the outfits that everyone was wearing resembled more of a summer day camp feel than a bachelorette party.  In any case, the large group of revelers did the usual bachelorette party schtick and eventually left after a couple of hours.  Then towards the end of the night, a few of them came back for a nightcap when the bride-to be was introduced to FIREBALL WHISKY (note her reaction, bride on the left)...

After much prodding, she finally took the plunge and did the shot.  Ironically enough, she left soon afterwards, smiling but looking a bit queasy at the same time.

Ah... isn't love grand?

Wish us luck today as we deal with the hottest day yet.  Fingers crossed that our AC is up to the task.

NY Yankees vs Boston (day/night doubleheader), NY Mets vs Cubs (4pm), NASCAR Pepsi 400 (7pm) and SUDSY SATURDAYS ($3 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Lt & Labatt Blue pints, 7-11pm)!

Stay cool!
