I'M ALL FOOTBALLED OUT...

It's Friday and I'm finally getting around to catching up on the blog.  It's been an especially long week, lot of it having to do with the fact that it's been a week full of FOOTBALL!

In the past, I usually planned the bar week around Saturday, Sunday and Monday night football, then I would have the rest of the week to tie up loose ends and plan for the next week's slate of games.  Now, with the addition of Thursday Night Football, there is one less day to work with.  It makes the week, in a sense, go by faster (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), which puts the pressure on me to get everything ready in time for the next weekend's slate of games.

As for football on Thursday night- I'm totally on board with the NFL on Thursday nights, as long as the games are exciting.  Does adding an extra night of NFL games "dilute" the overall product?  It's too early to tell.  Last night's game, for example (Green Bay vs Chicago), was a great looking matchup of the longest-running rivalry in the NFL.  We got a fair amount of fans of both the Bears and Packers in the house, yet the actual game itself turned out to be a bit of a dud.  Oh well.  There's only so much planning you can do on your end.  You can't control the game itself.  Everyone seemed to have a good time nevertheless, which is the most important thing. Hopefully there will be better results in future games.

So with that, it's time to look forward to this weekend's slate of games.  There's a lot of great games (both College and NFL) on tap and we're looking forward to them and hope that you are as well!

SATURDAY NIGHT: "Notre Dame vs Michigan State Viewing Party" (8pm w/audio)!  $4 Sam Adams Oktoberfest pints during the game!

It should be a great weekend!

Cheers!

A dud? Or did you mean a "thud," the sound of Jay Cutler hitting the ground?

Did you see the guns on Clay Mathews?
